China's gas imports down 10% in January-September

China’s natural gas imports via pipeline and in the form of LNG during the first nine months of the year were 81.16mn metric tons, down 9.5% year/year, the country’s customs department said on October 24.

The cost of imports during the January-September period was 49.62bn yuan ($6.84bn), up sharply from 34.51bn yuan in the same period of last year reflecting the spike in global gas prices.
