China's Gas Import in Jan-Feb Grows 2.8%

China’s natural gas imports, both via pipeline and in the form of LNG, totalled 17.8mn mt (24.2bn m3) in the first two months of this year, up 2.8% yr/yr, according to customs data published March 7. The customs department did not provide data for January and February separately.

Chinese gas imports have taken a hit this year because of the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak, with yr/yr growth slowing down significantly. In January last year, Chinese gas import grew 27% yr/yr and in February it grew 9% yr/yr.
