China's April Gas Imports Up

China’s natural gas imports (pipeline and LNG) in April were up year-on-year, according to customs department data published May 8.

Asia’s biggest economy imported 7.65mn metric tons of gas last month, up over 12% year-on-year, the customs department data showed. Imports were up month-on-month as well. China imported 6.93mn mt of gas in March.

Cumulative imports during the first four months were 31.89mn mt, up 16.4% compared with the same period of previous year, the customs data showed.
