China Produces Record Natural Gas in December
China produced record volumes of natural gas for the second straight month in December, according to the data published by country’s statistics department January 21.
Asia’s biggest economy produced 15.3bn m3 of natural gas last month, up 10% year-on-year. In November, Chinese gas output was a record as well at 14.3bn m3.
For the full year, production was 161bn m3, up 7.5% on 2017.
Chinese state-owned explorers have ramped up output to meet strong domestic demand, which has been trending up since early-2017.
