China Launches its Most Advanced LNG Carrier

Hudong Shipyard on Thursday inaugurated the largest Chinese built LNG carrier.

The ship is expected to bring about 1.5 million tons of LNG every year from Australia and other Asia Pacific nations, Xinhua Finance Agency reported Friday.

The ship has a total tank capacity of about 174,000 cubic meters, after loading LNG vaporization capacity will reach 107 million cubic meters.

Chinese LNG demand is growing at the rate of 12 percent per year and is expected to reach 400 billion cubic meters by 2020.

China's CNOOC has been completed Dapeng LNG terminal, Fujian LNG terminal, Tianjin LNG terminal and seven other LNG receiving station with cumulative loading and unloading LNG capacity exceeding 80 million tons, Xinhua Finance reported.
