Changqing Field Sees Record Output

The Changqing oilfield’s production during the year up to December 27 was a record 60.83mn metric tons of oil equivalent, the project's operator CNPC said in a statement on December 28 without offering yr/yr comparison.

Crude oil output was 24.52mn mt, representing around one eighth of the country’s overall output, and natural gas extraction was 44.53bn m3, or a quarter of the national total, CNPC said.

Changqing, one of China’s biggest oilfields, is located in the country's northern Ordos basin. It supplies oil and gas to cities including Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.
