CERAWeek 2020 Cancelled over COVID-19 Threat

This year's CERAWeek, one of the world's largest energy conferences, has been cancelled because of concerns about the spread of the coronavirus, its organiser IHS Markit said on March 1.

The conference had been scheduled to take place in Houston on March 9 to 13.

"There is growing concern about large conferences with people coming from different parts of the world," IHS said in a statement. "Delegates from over 80 countries were expected to participate in CERAWeek 2020."

Among those who had been due to speak at the conference were the CEOs of energy majors BP, ConocoPhillips, Total, Shell and Saudi Aramco.
