Canadian Gas Group Names New Chair

The Canadian Gas Association (CGA), the voice of Canada’s natural gas distribution industry, said February 5 it has appointed Leigh Ann Shoji-Lee, president of Pacific Northern Gas, as its new chair of the board of directors.

Shoji-Lee has been president of Pacific Northern Gas, which serves 42,000 commercial, residential and industry gas customers in western and northeastern BC, since 2016.

Between 2014 and 2016 Shoji-Lee was vice president, manufacturing and shared services for Britco, a modular building provider in BC, and from 2011 to 2013 she was CEO of Canadian Utility Construction Corporation. She has also held senior executive positions at electric utility BC Hydro and at Union Gas in Ontario.

The CGA also announced the nominations of Malini Giridhar, vice president, business development and regulatory at Ontario’s Enbridge Gas, and Jason Sharpe, senior vice president and general manager, natural gas transmission and distribution at Alberta’s Atco, to first and second vice chair positions, respectively.
