Canada’s Advantage O&G in US Gas Supply Deal

Canada’s Advantage Oil & Gas said September 29 it had entered into a long-term gas supply agreement with the recently-sanctioned CPV Three Rivers Energy Center, a 1,250 MW gas-fired combined cycle generating facility planned for Grundy County, Illinois.

Under terms of the agreement, Advantage will supply CPV Three Rivers with 25,000 mnBtu/day of gas over a 10-year period, starting when the generating station reaches commercial operations in early 2023.

Advantage will supply the gas from its 400mn ft3/day Glacier gas plant, a low emissions facility incorporating carbon capture and sequestration technology located in the heart of the Montney fairway near Grande Prairie, Alberta. The gas will be delivered to CPV Three Rivers on the existing Alliance pipeline.
