Cambodia Imports LNG from China: Press

Cambodian Natural Gas Group has imported LNG in containers from Cnooc Gas and Power, Khamer Times reported January 16. The LNG containers arrived at Cambodia’s Sihanoukville port on January 14.

Pheng Sros Choronei, administration officer at Cambodia Natural Gas Group said that the company plans to expand to 25 provincial capitals. Currently, it focuses on Phnom Penh and Preah Sihanouvk provinces.

According to the Chinese embassy in Cambodia this is China’s first export of LNG to Cambodia.  “Under the leadership of the leaders of the two countries, the China-Cambodia joint construction of the ‘Belt and Road’ has continued to go deeper and further,” the embassy said.
