British Vow to Tame Gas Prices

The British government is continuing its campaign to moderate gas prices for consumers.

A statement from the Minister for Energy and Climate Change says that 'millions of households' will get a better deal as a four-tariff only system is imposed.

The Prime Minister, David Cameron, recently undertook to make sure that all householders would get the cheapest tariff for their energy, whatever form it took.

The DECC published a discussion document containing proposals which it said would ensure all consumers were on a fair deal for gas and electricity.

London has also been dealing with a controversy regarding alleged price-fixing on gas markets, after a whistle-blower who worked in the industry spoke out.
