BPCL May Bring Mozambique LNG to India by 2018

Indian state owned energy firm Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd is keen to supply LNG cargoes to Indian companies by 2018 from Rovuma basin located off the coast of Mozambique, financial newspaper Business Line quoted company’s Chairman R K Singh as saying.

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) in a consortium with ONGC Videsh and Oil India Ltd control about 30 per cent stake in the block.

As per estimates, the block has a potential to produce about 35 to 65 trillion cubic feet (tcf) of gas out of, which BPCL can claim about six to seven tcf of gas, he said.
