PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara, is planning to buy 1 million metric tons of liquefied natural gas per annum from BP's Tangguh plant in West Papua province.

“We are looking for a long-term contract of more than 10 years,” Nur Pamudji, the president director of the electricity supplier told Bloomberg.

The LNG will be used to supply a floating terminal in offshore North Sumatra, which will be built by PT Perusahaan Gas Negara, he said.

The Tangguh LNG processing plant consists of two trains with a capacity to produce 7.6 million metric tons of LNG a year.
