Bonatti Wins Pertamina Algerian EPC Contract

Indonesian state producer Pertamina has awarded Italian Bonatti an €85mn ($102mn) engineering, procurement and construction contract for its Menzel Lejmat Nord field, which will upgrade the existing facilities to treat the future expected gas flow and enhance the oil production, it said June 11. The MLN field is in the north of Block 405a, about 240 km southeast of the gas-gathering complex at Hassi Messaoud in a remote desert location.

The aim of the project is to develop and upgrade the existing facility for future expected gas treatment and oil production at 2020 by installing two 37.5mn ft³/d compressors, a dehydration train and their related systems, but without disrupting the present production, Bonatti said June 11.

The contract signing ceremony took place on June 4 in Algiers at the presence of the CEO of Sonatrach Abdelmoumen Ould Kaddour; the upstream director of the operator, Pertamina International, Djoko N Imanhardjo; and the head of Repsol Algeria Didier Wloszczowski.
