Bolivia Says Caigua Field Output Set to Climb

Bolivia’s state oil company Yacimientos Petroliferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) said March 18 natural gas production from the Caigua field located in Gran Chaco province of the Tarija department is expected to reach 60mn ft3/day in April, compared to 50mn ft3/day now, when the new Caigua-15D well is brought on-stream.

The well, located in Aguarague in the northern sector of the Caigua field and some 16 km from Villa Montes, will initially produce 10mn ft3/day of gas and contribute to boosting annual revenues from the field to around $475mn, YPFB said. Production from the field will serve domestic markets.

The Caigua-15D well was drilled to a final depth of 2,850 m with an estimated investment of $21.7mn, and was the last well in the development phase of the Caigua field being carried out by YPFB Chaco, a subsidiary of the state company.
