BNK to Fracture Stimulate Horizontal Well in Poland

BNK Petroleum reported promising results from its horizontal well in the Lower Silurian and Ordovician shales in Poland, mentioning ‘excellent gas reading regularly recorder throughout the lateral.’

‘The Gapowo B-1 well is believed to be the longest horizontally drilled well in Poland,” reads a note released on Monday.

The company believes the area is highly prospective for shale gas, adding that it controls about 285,000 net acres that have good potential to produce natural gas with low associated risk.

The core and log data analysis pave the way to the next phase of the development. Fracture stimulation is set to begin in a few weeks.

The company plans to fracture stimulate 30% of the available lateral length, before halting the operations to carry out a production test. After the design optimization, the company will proceed with the stimulation of the remaining lateral.

BNK Petroleum received the requested concession modification amendment in December and initiated the drilling in January
