Blue Energy Signs Oz Gas Supply Pact

Sydney-listed Blue Energy has executed a non-binding heads of agreement with EnergyAustralia for the supply of 100 petajoules of gas over 10 years (10 petajoules/year) from its Northern Bowen basin ATP814 coalbed methane tenure in Queensland, it said on December 3.

Blue said the agreement paved the way for the first delivery of North Bowen basin gas to the main east coast domestic market to the south from Moranbah. “It is a foundation volume that will contribute to the underpinning of the proposed gas pipeline from the North Bowen basin into the Wallumbilla “Hub”, and for the development of Blue’s Bowen tenements,” it added.

Blue’s ATP814 permit has been assessed by NSAI to contain 3,248 petajoules of contingent resource (recoverable) around Moranbah. In addition to this volume, there are currently 71 petajoules of 2P reserves and 298 petajoules of 3P reserves in close proximity to the existing gas field infrastructure in the North Bowen basin, the company said.
