Beijing Gas Blue Sky H1 Profit Jumps

Chinese gas distributor Beijing Gas Blue Sky Holdings August 28 said profit for the six months to June (H1 2019) was HK$160.1mn, up 73.4% year on year thanks to higher gas sales volume.

For H1, total gas sales volume increased by 121.3% as compared with the corresponding period of last year to 548.5mn m3, it said.

During the aforementioned period, gas sales volume from the subsidiaries amounted to 521.5mn m3, representing an increase of 166.1% as compared with corresponding period of last year, the company said. In addition, the gas sales and throughput volume from the associates of the group amounted to 3.3bn m3. It was mainly attributable to natural gas throughput volume from Jingtang LNG receiving terminal, Beijing Gas Blue Sky said.

At present, company’s natural gas projects covered a total of 16 provinces, city and autonomous region in China, namely Liaoning, Jilin, Hubei, Hebei, Shandong, Anhui, Zhejiang, Shaanxi, Guizhou, Hainan, Guangxi, Guangdong, Ningxia Autonomous Region, Shanxi, Beijing City and Shanghai City.

Commenting on H2 2019, the company said that the domestic natural gas consumption will continue to maintain a steady growth.
