Beach Energy, Cooper Energy Spud Cooper Basin Gas Well

Joint venture partners Beach Energy and Cooper Energy have spudded an exploration well, Louth-1, in PRL 102 in the Cooper Basin in Australia September 15, Cooper Energy said September 18.

The well had been drilled to the depth of 840 metres.

Cooper Energy holds a 25% interest in the PEL 92 joint venture with the balance held by the operator, Beach Energy.

Louth-1 is designed to test the gas and condensate potential of the Patchawarra Formation. Patchawarra Formation targets have been successfully tested at the Mokami and Udacha gas/condensate fields located 4 km and 10 km east of the Louth-1 well location.

Louth-1 has a prognosed total depth of 2,671 metres and is expected to take 14 days to complete.
