Baku Firm Wins Gazprom Frack Contract

Privately-owned service company KTIB has received a three-year contract for 152 hydraulic fracturing units for work on Gazprom's fading Yamburg and Urengoy fields.

Rock Engineering Services, a division of Azerbaijan's KTIB Holding, won tenders for the provision of fracturing services for a total of rubles 1.587bn ($27.366.7mn), it said February 12. Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg has produced 3.5 trillion m³ since start-up of the field in 1984, while Gazprom Dobycha Urengoi has produced 6.7 trillion m³ since the field's start-up in 1978.

KTIB was established in 2005 in Baku. It includes subdivisions in Russia, Azerbaijan, the US, Kazakhstan and the Middle East.
