Azeri 1Q Gas Output Stable

Azerbaijan’s sales gas output stood at 4.8bn m3 in 1Q17, stable compared to the same period last year, the first-vice president of state-run Socar, Khoshbakht Yusifzade has told NGW.

According to Yusifzade, Shah Deniz phase 1 produced about 2.5bn m3 of gas, less than in 1Q2016. In contrast, associated gas deliveries from Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli field to Socar increased by 0.4bn m3.

Azerbaijan’s sales gas output decreased by 7.9% in 1Q16, compared to 1Q15.

In full year 2016, Azerbaijan's gross gas production was 29.4bn m3 , including 18.71bn m3 of sales gas of which 6.754bn m3 was exported.

Gross gas includes gas used in oilfield reinjection as well as flared gas. According to latest World Bank figures, Azerbaijan flared only 0.193bn m3 in 2015 having more than halved its flaring since 2013.
