Azerbaijan ups Gas Output 34%

Azerbaijan increased its sale gas production last year by 34.3% to 25.8bn m3, Socar told NGW January 16. State-run Socar produced 6.82bn m3, which was about 4.5% more than in 2018; and the rest came from BP-led projects: Shah Deniz (SD) and Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG). Shah Deniz output rose 46.1% year-on-year to 16.8bn m3 in 2019.

Azerbaijan’s overall gas flow to Turkey reached 9.18bn m³, of which 30% was SD2 gas and exported through Georgia and Turkey. Azerbaijan also delivered 2.36bn m3 to Georgia. In total, exports increased by 23% to 11.586bn m3, Socar said.

Domestic consumption reached 11.531bn m3, about 8.7% more than 2018, which was mainly the result of 8.5% growth in residential demand.
