Axpo pens Polish gas supply deal

Swiss energy trader Axpo said on March 30 it had signed a long-term contract to supply gas to the Polish plants of the world's biggest brick producer Wienerberger.

Axpo said the deal strengthened its position in the Polish gas market, noting that prices would be indexed to foreign markets with high liquidity. It did not disclose the quantity of gas it would supply to Wienerburger.

"The deal signed with Wienerburger is an important milestone for us and underpins our ability to provide large industrial customers with tailor-made and flexible solutions on a long-term basis."

Axpo has been working in the Polish energy market for 20 years, supplying both gas and power.
