Awilco sends last rig to scrapyard

UK drilling contractor Awilco Drilling announced on June 22 it had concluded the sale of its only remaining rig for scrap.

The WillHunter semi-submersible has been cold-stacked in Invergordon, in Scotland, since 2016, because of a lack of work opportunities. Keeping it cost-stacked was costing Awilco $1,300 daily, the company has said before.
