AWE Spuds Perth Basin Unconventional Gas Well

AWE has said that it has commenced drilling the Drover-1 exploration well in EP455 in the Perth Basin, Western Australia.

The well is designed to test the unconventional gas potential in the southern area of AWE’s Perth Basin acreage and is targeting the Kockatea and Carynginia shale formations, the Irwin River Coal Measures and the High Cliff Sandstones.

The Drover-1 exploration well will be drilled vertically to a planned total depth of 2,400m and is forecast to take approx. four weeks to complete.

The Joint Venture partners in EP455 are: AWE (Operator) 81.50%; Titan Energy 18.50%.
