Australia's Melbana announces A$15mn placement

Sydney-listed Melbana Energy on March 16 said it had received firm commitments to raise A$15mn ($10.8mn) through the issue of 125mn fully paid shares at A$0.12/share to new and existing investors.

Funds raised will be used primarily for Melbana’s share of costs associated with new and expanded work streams arising from recent exploration successes in Block 9, Cuba.

The issue price represents a 14.3% discount to the last closing price of A$0.14/share and a 1.6% discount to the 5-day volume weighted average price of A$0.122/share, the company said.
