AusGroup Expands Gorgon Maintenance Contract

Singapore-listed services firm AusGroup February 11 said it has extended its current master services maintenance contract for services at Chevron Australia’s natural gas facilities in Western Australia.

AusGroup will supply planning, supervision and multi-discipline trade resources, to support a scheduled turnaround at the Chevron-operated Gorgon facility.

In addition, several key packages across Chevron’s WA natural gas facilities have also recently been awarded under this contract including pipe fabrication, compressor transportation and lifting frame, main stack replacement and the phase 3 & 4 RIAG modules fabrication, the co0mpany said.

The Gorgon project is operated by Chevron Australia and is a joint venture of the Australian subsidiaries of the US majors Chevron (46.3%) and ExxonMobil (25%), Anglo-Dutch Shell (25%) and Japan's Osaka Gas (1.25%), Tokyo Gas (1%) and Jera (0.417%).

Chevron is undertaking the second phase development which aims to upgrade the project’s existing subsea facilities to ensure production is maintained for future gas supply. The planned future development phase involves new wells in the Gorgon and Jansz-lo fields and accompanying offshore production pipelines and subsea structures.
