Arrow LNG Open For Public Review

Arrow Energy has put its environmental impact statement up for public review. The statement was released on Thursday.

The company, a joint venture between Shell and PetroChina, through the statement details potential environmental, social and economic impacts. The company also outlines the benefits of the LNG project.

The public will have six weeks starting April 16 to comment on a proposed project.

The Curtis Island plant is expected to have an annual capacity of up to 18 million tonnes of LNG and a nine kilometre-long feed gas pipeline would be needed from Gladstone.

Arrow Chief Executive Officer Andrew Faulkner called this statement as significant.

“It’s vital our project is developed with the input of the community. We’re serious about our responsibilities to the people of Gladstone and surrounding communities and this rigorous process ensures we balance all the environmental, social and economic impacts of this world-scale CSG to LNG project.”
