Armour Starts Oz Surat Basin Work Programme

Australian oil and gas explorer Armour Energy has started the Surat basin 2020 work programme in Queensland at its-100% owned and operated Kincora gas project, it said on September 10 in a statement.

A three well stimulation campaign will be carried out over the next three months while another three stimulations are planned for the first half of 2021. “In addition to adding new volumes of liquid rich gas, results are expected to support the de-risking of new drilling locations and contribute to the reserves maturation plan,” Armour said.

The work programme also involves the installation of linear rod pumps in the Myall Creek 4 and Myall Creek 3 wells, along with the installation of plunge lift at the Parknook 3 and Caxton 1 wells.

“The Horsehoe-4 stimulation programme is the first of a six-well program which is to be completed by June 2021. The first three wells in this program will be completed and delivering sales gas before Christmas,” Armour CEO Brad Lingo said.

Earlier this year, Armour announced an increase in the reserves at Kincora. The company acquired the project in 2015 from Origin Energy, restarting its production the following year.
