Appea elects Senex's Ian Davis as chair

Australia’s leading oil and gas industry body Appea on November 18 announced the election of Senex Energy’s Ian Davies as chair and Woodside’s Meg O’Neill as vice chair following its annual general meeting (AGM) in Perth.

Davies, managing director and CEO of Senex Energy, was first elected to the Appea board in 2017 and has held the position of vice chair since 2019. O’Neill, CEO and managing director of Woodside, was first elected to the board in 2019.

Appea also welcomed three new directors: Morne Engelbrecht, acting CEO of Beach Energy; Noel Newell, executive chairman of 3D Oil; and Ken Yamamura, managing director and CEO at Mitsui E&P Australia.

Former Appea chairman Eric Streitberg, executive chairman at Buru Energy, has retired. Streitberg served on the Appea board across two different stints for almost three decades including as chairman from 2009 to 2011.
