Angus provides Saltfleetby drilling update

Angus Energy, an independent onshore oil and gas driller focused on the UK, on June 10 provided an update on its commissioning schedule for a new sidetrack well at Saltfleetby gas field.

The drilling of the sidetrack is scheduled for July 21. Angus Energy has wrapped up its preparations, risk assessments and planning, and now has all necessary equipment in place to export sales gas.

Saltfleetby's production peaked in 2000 at a rate of around 44mn ft3/day, and now roughly 70% of its total recoverable reserves have been extracted. The field is expected to continue operations until 2036, though this will depend on the economics of maintaining production.

Angus in August 2020 signed a gas sales agreement to sell Saltfleetby's entire production offtake to Shell Energy Europe. At the time, the field had a mean sales gas reserves potential of 16bn ft3, and mean contingent reserves of 10bn ft3.
