Shale Gas

Alice, Tulips, the South Sea and Shale Gas?

The Wealth section of today's Financial Times contains 'The shale gas fairytale continues", written by John Dizard.

In the highly critical article, Mr. Dizard views the emerging developments in shale gas as a “mania” and as “financial bubble”.

We at Natural Gas for Europe encourage readers to seek out all views on developments in unconventional resources, whether they be positive or negative.

Clearly there are potential commercial and environmental concerns related to shale gas development, but Mr. Dizard nor only throws out the ‘baby with the bath water’, but also the bathing basin and also demolishes the dwelling in the process.

A reading of Mr. Dizard’s thoughts should be followed by a visit to Nick Grealy’s excellent blog No Hot Air.

In his post “It's those men again”, Mr. Grealy provides a succinct rebuttal to Mr. Dizard’s Alice in Wonderland portrayal of shale enthusiasts.

Happy reading!!

By the way, Alice never had a house with a requirement for heating.
