Algeria, Tanzania to Cooperate in Oil, Gas Exploration

Algeria and Tanzania have agreed to cooperate in the field of oil and gas exploration in the Easy African nation.

"We want to use the experience of Algeria to explore oil and gas in various regions in Tanzania," Tanzanian energy minister Souspeter Muhongo was quoted as saying by Algeria Press Service Monday.

Muhongo met with his Algerian counterpart Youcef Yousfi in Algiers.

Algeria Press Service further reported that the two countries have also finalised three projects. A joint venture will be created between the national company Sonelgaz and Tanzanian company Tanesco for the distribution of electricity. The other two projects are related to the distribution of butane gas and the drilling and production of oil, said the Algerian news agency.
