AG&P Opens its 1st LCNG Station in India

Singapore-based AG&P opened its first liquefied & compressed natural gas (LCNG) station in the city of Jodhpur in the western Indian state of Rajasthan, it said on January 28. AG&P operates under the AG&P Pratham brand in India.

The LCNG station comprises two storage tanks with a capacity of 56 metric tons. “The LCNG station will ensure uninterrupted access of natural gas to commercial, industrial, and residential customers not connected to the gas pipeline, including owners and drivers of any CNG powered vehicle – from auto-rickshaws to taxis, cars, and light commercial trucks,” it said. This is the first LCNG station in the entire state of Rajasthan.

With the opening of the LCNG station, Jodhpur now has six AG&P Pratham CNG stations and three more are expected to be commissioned next month, the company said. AG&P Pratham is also laying pipelines in Jodhpur to deliver piped natural gas (PNG) to homes, businesses and factories.

In 2018 and 2019, AG&P was awarded 12 city gas distribution licences by India's Petroleum & Natural Gas Regulatory Board to exclusively provide natural gas in 31 districts in the states of Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala, including CNG for use in vehicles and PNG for domestic, industrial and commercial use.
