Adnoc to supply gas to Dubai Supply Authority

State-owned Adnoc has signed a gas supply agreement with Dubai Supply Authority (DUSUP), it said on September 9.

DUSUP will use the gas for electricity generation at Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s Hassyan power complex. Adnoc did not provide any other details about the deal.

The Hassyan power complex was initially built as a dual-fuel plant with the ability to operate full-time at full load on both natural gas and clean coal but has been transformed to run only on gas. The present net electricity generation capacity is 1.2 GW. A further 600 MW is scheduled to be added in Q4 of 2022 and an additional 600 MW will be added by Q3 of 2023.
