Adnoc Announces Second Bid Round

State-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) May 1 announced a second licensing round in new areas, with five blocks up for grabs.

They are known as Offshore Blocks 3, 4 and 5 and Onshore Blocks 2 and 5, with the latter offering two separate licensing opportunities for conventional and unconventional oil and gas, respectively. The five blocks add up to about 34,000 km2.

In March this year, Adnoc successfully concluded the first bidding round. The blocks in the first and second bid round collectively cover about two-thirds of Abu Dhabi, Adnoc said. The closing date for bids is the end of November 2019.
