Samsung Engineering wins $80mn contract for UAE gas project

A joint venture comprising Samsung Engineering, Technip Energies and Tecnimont has been awarded an $80mn contract by ADNOC for pre-construction services for the offshore Hail and Ghasha gas development project, Samsung Engineering said on January 17.

The scope of work also includes the preparation of an open book estimate for the full project delivery.

“The awards come as ADNOC accelerates gas expansion, as part of its low carbon growth strategy to continue responsibly meeting global energy needs,” Samsung Engineering said. "ADNOC is committed to unlocking the UAE’s abundant natural gas reserves to enable domestic gas self-sufficiency, industrial growth and diversification, as well as to meet growing global gas demand.”

Both gas fields are situated in the Ghasha concession, described by ADNOC as the world's largest offshore sour gas development.
