Aminex reports progress on Ntorya-Madimba pipe project in Tanzania

Tanzania-focused Aminex on May 10 announced progress in the pipeline project linking Ntorya gas field to the Madimba gas processing plant. Collaborating with ARA Petroleum Tanzania (APT), Aminex recently convened with the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) to review the project's status and plans.

According to the latest update, TPDC has acquired the necessary land and completed all front-end engineering and design works essential for the construction of a 35 km pipeline. This pipeline will establish a link to TPDC's existing processing and transmission infrastructure at Madimba, facilitating gas transportation.

TPDC is currently finalising the environmental impact study associated with the pipeline's construction and anticipates issuing a tender for construction in July 2024. TPDC reiterated its plan to expedite the project, targeting first gas production no later than mid-2025.

The Ntorya gas condensate field, situated in southeast Tanzania and part of the Ruvuma PSA, holds strategic importance in the region's energy landscape. Aminex, in January this year, finalised a gas sales agreement for the Ntorya location through its subsidiary, Ndovu Resources, in collaboration with operator ARA and TPDC.
