Tokyo Gas, Petronas to Strengthen Energy Cooperation

Tokyo Gas and Petronas LNG October 28 signed a memorandum of collaboration to co-operate more in the global energy space, especially southeast Asia, Atlantic, and Pacific Basins, Tokyo Gas said October 31.

“I am hoping that this collaboration between Tokyo Gas and Petronas will further strengthen our existing relationship to a global level,” said Mohd Anuar Taib, CEO, upstream, Petronas.

Tokyo Gas has been focusing on expanding its LNG footprint, especially in fast growing southeast Asian market. In August, Tokyo Gas formed LNG Vietnam in collaboration with Petrovietnam Gas and Bitexco.

Expectation of robust energy consumption growth has attracted other global majors to the region as well.
