Pegas July Spot Trade Rises 55%

Pan-European gas trading platform Pegas reported August 1 a 55% growth in the volume of spot gas traded in July, with 40.3 TWh, equivalent to 3.75bn m3, changing hands, up by 55% compared to the previous year (26.0 TWh).

At the Dutch TTF, 12.5 TWh were traded, 69% more than in July 2015 (7.4 TWh). The German NCG and Gaspool hubs together registered the biggest share on Pegas with a total of 14.9 TWh, an increase of 63%. Of these, trading of quality-specific spot contracts for Germany totalled 4.6 TWh. The French PEGs (north and south) totalled 10.1 TWh, while the Belgian ZTP and ZEE reached 2.2 TWh. Lastly, spread transactions of all hubs amounted to 3.9 TWh, the Powernext-owned entity said.

The locational products in Germany and France registered a total volume of 540,694 MWh, among which 532,894 MWh were traded on the Hourly products in 3,866 transactions. Pan-European gas trading platform Pegas reported August 1 a 20% growth in the volume of gas traded, at 86.1 TWh in July 2016.
