Partners sanction new Permian gas pipeline

Infrastructure companies WhiteWater, EnLink Midstream and MPLX and US major Devon Energy said May 19 they had sanctioned the Matterhorn Express pipeline project in the Permian basin after securing firm support from shippers.

The 2.5bn ft3/day pipeline will extend 42 miles from Waha, Texas to the Katy area near Houston. Supply will come from multiple upstream connections in the Permian, including direct connections to processing facilities in the Midland basin through a 75-mile lateral and a direct connection to the 3.2bn ft3/day Agua Blanca pipeline, which is a joint venture of WhiteWater and MPLX.
