KBR to Work on Indonesia Gas Project

KBR has been awarded a contract by PLN, the Indonesian state-owned power generation company, for engineering and design services to expand the gas supply infrastructure across Indonesia.

The US firm will perform the feasibility study to develop infrastructure and logistics systems to regasify LNG and supply the gas to the gas fired power plants in Sumatera, Maluku and Papua provinces, with the potential for additional locations, it said December 22. KBR will then perform the front end engineering design work for the proposed infrastructure schemes, developing preliminary engineering designs and technical design basis.

Both the feasibility study and Feed work are expected to take about nine months.
