Chinese Wison Wins Kazakh LNG Project EPC Contract

Chinese Wison Engineering Services has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction contract to build an LNG project in Kazakhstan, the company said December 20.

Its affiliate Wison Engineering has been awarded an EPC contract for the project by Astana Trans Oil. This will be the first LNG facility in Kazakhstan. Wison Engineering will be responsible for the turn-key services from front-end engineering and design, basic and detailed engineering, procurement, construction, to commissioning, start-up, and operators training. The project is scheduled to be delivered at the end of 2018.

The project site is in Zhambyl, Kazakhstan, which is the site of one of the Sino-Kazakhstan production capacity co-operation projects. The project, according to Wison, will help reduce the local cargo transportation cost and the shortage of natural gas supply in north Kazakhstan.
